The ECG100C amplifier has a built-in R-wave detector mode. In this mode, the amplifier outputs a peak at every R-wave, which significantly improves the quality of the signal and helps the software calculate heart rate and R-R interval. R-wave detector mode can be especially useful if the subject is exercising or moving during the recording session.

 

When the amplifier is run in R-wave mode, the complete ECG complex is not visible. The R-wave mode only displays the smoothed R-wave peaks.
