MP36/35: Resolving Microsoft Security Update Driver Issues with Older Hardware
Users of older MP36 hardware (pre-MP36A) and MP35s may experience driver-related issues caused by the latest Microsoft security updates for Windows 10 and 11. This issue disables communication with the MP36/35 by blocking the device’s drivers on Windows computers with memory integrity and Virtual Machine Platform (VMP) features turned on.
A detailed explanation of the issue and how to turn off memory integrity and VMP can be found on the Microsoft support website.
BIOPAC suggests either of the following solutions to resolve the issue caused by the Microsoft security update.
Solution 1
Users can change the Microsoft default security setting to its pre-update state, allowing the MP36/35 to function unimpeded. IT departments concerned that this may compromise network security can remove affected machines from the network. For instructions on how to do this, follow the above link.
Solution 2
Users wishing to continue using Microsoft’s default security settings can upgrade to the newer MP36A. This model is not adversely affected by the new Windows security features, allowing the driver to function normally with Microsoft’s default security settings.
